My first impression of this poster was “wow this is amazing”. I loved the colors and how everything was organized. The choice of images is questionable to me. I like the 2 individuals at the top, but I am not sure why the blue ribbon was chosen, or how the black and white images are related to the topic. I wish they connected better to the topic. How about using a book, using the word diabetes in a fun font, or an image that shows chronic illnesses. Even though this is complicated to put into an image. I completely understand that for the creators of this poster it probably made sense, however just looking at the poster it is hard to understand why those images were chosen. I liked the choice of font, and the size of the titles is good. The use of space on the poster was used wisely and everything makes sense why it was placed where it is.
All topics were present on the poster and organized perfectly. The IPE portion of the poster looks like a puzzle which shows the correlation between all of the terms. This was very creative and done well.
The population and problem section of the poster gives a great overview of the topic and I think the wording used is simple and good. The IPE analysis was done well, and I liked how each section was broken down into Patient, HCP, system, etc. and that these terms were bolded. It draws attention to those areas. In the “Making Connections” part, I would use the words (Interrelationships-Perspectives) instead of I-P or in brackets beside the terms above have I, P or B. For example, “Interrelationships (I)”.
Overall great job. I think this poster is visually appealing and organized perfectly.
Hi team,
I wanted to start by saying great job on your poster! The colors, imaging, and design of the poster are very aesthetic! The design being a puzzle piece really helps a reader follow the flow of your information and shows the interconnectedness of the entire IPB analysis. It really promotes that the analysis are all pieces of a puzzle and affect each other. The font is easy to read against the color of the boxes and the color theme is complimentary to each other!
I like that the sub-topics in the IPB are clearly outlined in bold, it makes it easier to understand your brainstorming throughout the analysis. Although, I would consider adding note/bullet points to this section. While the information is great, I find it sounds like separate points and might look cleaner in note form rather than the center-aligned format you have now. As well as this, I would consider adding a citation to your first point under the population box, it seems like a statistic? The population box also leads me to believe that the poster is directly focused on Indigenous peoples in Canada and their relation to low health literacy, but as the poster continues, I don’t see a mention of the Indigenous population again. I also do not see a clinical case/ personal experience on the poster, I’m not sure if this is something you wise to add but I was under the idea that it was supposed to be a part of the poster, might be worth checking on!
Overall, I think this poster is organized very well and is easy to read. You have found a balance of adding enough information to be clear but not too wordy where the idea gets lost. I believe that Vancouver-style citations also help reduce the look of wordiness, good call on those! Amazing work!
My first look at your poster had me realizing that it is very eye-catching. I can tell that a lot of thought went into the layout of the poster. For the aesthetics I enjoy the colour combinations. I think the white background could maybe be spiced up a little with maybe a light neutral colour. The graphics are a nice touch. I really enjoy how you guys incorporated little puzzle pieces to show that IBP is connected and how it leads into the connections that are made. Overall the poster is aesthetically pleasing.
For the content portion I like how you were able to narrow down your topic and really zone in on a specific population that can struggle with literacy complexity. The problem that you present in your poster definitely hit some key points such as the one made about how individuals with low literacy levels can suffer inadequate care simply due to a miscommunication. I like this point because it gets people thinking about a problem that they may not have even realized is a barrier in healthcare. I like that you were able to clearly state the connections made related to IPB without muddling up the aesthetic of the poster.
I noticed that you went with the Vancouver style referencing, this is a good choice in my opinion as it is minimal and doesn’t distract from the information on the poster. I can see that you met the required 10 references and I don’t see any spelling errors. Your reference page upload also looks proper, some of your references are from 2018 which seems to be a bit of a grey area as per the poster rubric you may want to look into this.
Overall great job on your poster!
Hi team,
This poster is very easy on the eyes. I like the colour pallet choice and the way the non-yellow colours are organized in the middle. It brings your eye to that section of information which is the most important. I like the layout and the added icons indicate that this poster is related to healthcare. I liked that you included IBP at the bottom of the poster, it gives a good summary of the connections. It also briefly touches on the biases Indigenous people experience. I think this could be talked about more possibly.
The information is clear, easy to read and well-organized. The blue ribbon is representative of many different causes including diabetes so i liked that you included that. I like how you did the references, it does not take away from the poster. There are no spelling or grammar errors that I can see.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Team,
I found your poster to be well-organized, easy to read, and aesthetically pleasing! The chosen colours make it enticing to the eye without taking away from the content, and I like that the graphics you chose to use are not overly distracting. Though you were able to include a lot of content into this poster, I found that due to the paragraph format of the population and problem sections, it was difficult to ascertain the information quickly. Perhaps by bolding important sentences or by mixing paragraphs and bullet points, it could make the main points more easily identifiable to the reader, thus increasing the interaction with the poster.
I like that you clearly connected the elements of the IPB model in their own section; those connections are important to highlight when discussing potential solutions to address the problem of low health literacy in your chosen population. Perhaps to make the connections clearer for those who may not readily know the IPB model, you could try fully spelling out the words instead of using the first letter. An example could be using “Interrelationships-Perspectives” or “Interrelationships & Perspectives” instead of “I-P.”
Overall, I enjoyed the creativity and colour palette of your poster and thought you included lots of important content that demonstrated the group’s knowledge on the subject! You included credible in-text citations and had minimal to no spelling or grammar mistakes. Great work!
