  1. Overall feedback
You guys did an excellent job!! I felt very engaged throughout the presentation, and the information you presented was thorough and very relevant.
    • Good introduction with case study.
    • Video was very relevant and really grabbed the audience’s attention at the beginning of the presentation focusing them into the topic.
    • Good evaluation of case study and opens up the conversation to possible solutions
    • Good segway from case study issues into broader population issues
    • Would be beneficial to list references at the end of presentation.
    Environmental scan
    • Very local (all the solutions found seem to be within Kamloops) the group found many solutions that are already in place.
    SOLUTION 1
    • Well rounded assessment of solution and possible ways to implement.
    SOLUTION 2
    • Good summary of solution, appreciated the explanation of pros and cons to this solution
    SOLUTION 3
    • Appreciated the groups thoroughness with this solution and explaining how it could help the population.
    • Had good explanation of challenges around this solution and ways this could benefit this population
    PRIORITY SOLUTION
    • I agreed that the multidisciplinary approach was the best solution of the three provided.
    VISUAL ASPECTS AND PRESENTATION ASTHETICS
    • Each presenter spoke clearly and evenly, very easy to understand.
    • Some presenters could look up more from their speaker notes to engage the audience
    • Slides were visually appealing and graphics were relatable to the content
    • Font was readable and clear
    • Text on the slides could be minimized, some slides slightly too wordy.

  2. Hey everyone,

I want to start by talking about how much I enjoyed your presentation, ideas, and ability to engage the audience! I was very happy to see that the group began with a land acknowledgment before starting the presentation. The slide deck was easy to read, and I appreciated the bold lettering and font size was adequate to read from the back of class. I did find on some of the slides, there was a too much information that made it a little hard to follow at times. Maybe for future, it would be helpful to shorten the notes on the actual slides. The aesthetic was very creative, and the theme stayed consistent throughout! I would make note that some speakers spoke a tad fast maybe practicing prior to in front of other may help this. This was probably due to nerves, which we all experience, just a note for the future!

I found it respectful and thoughtful of the group to give a slight trigger warning to the video and found the video quite engaging. The images throughout the presentation as also helpful for aesthetic and maintain audience engagement.

The environmental scan was beautifully done, I think it did a very throughout job speaking to the multiple local programs available for diabetes in Kamloops. I do think a scan of some programs abroad would have been helpful to gain a better picture of what has been done in other areas. The scan also included financial costs and policies which I thought was a very holistic factor to include as it affects so many.

The first solution of implementing homeless hospital teams was a nice thought. Although I worry about staffing and overwhelming of the hospital with this solution. The idea would be so great, I just wondered about feasibility in the current state of RIH.

The second solution about universal income, was so interesting. I personally had never heard of this before and wonder what Canadian government would have to do to make this a reality in our country, and I think the answer to this question would determine the feasibility.

The third and priority and solution of using a multidisciplinary approach is easily the best and most feasible for Kamloops in regard to not having to make a policy to do this. The group did a great job highlighting the positives and the challenges of this solution. Having a way to connect acute care to community for charting and increased patient care is a serious problem and I’m glad the group addressed it!

The references were Vancouver style throughout the presentation and the reference list. All of the articles were within the last 5 years, and all looked to be from credible sources and varied in range. The range of articles really proved the amount of research the group completed to gain a full picture of diabetes in the homeless population. Great job team, you all did wonderful!

  3. KEEP FEEDBACK AT 250 – Jared Allan – Group 4

Thoroughly provides feedback on all 3 identified solutions and a detailed analysis of the priority solution’s relevance and feasibility within the local context.
    Solution 1
Great to see a team of people with proper education based on this specific solution helping the individual person. With different people helping it can focus more on a holistic style of care to cater to each necessary aspect of support. Solution 2
Engage those who are homeless to be educated and supported for supporting themselves with basic income. I feel this is great as it provides more independence and self-reliance to help aid those this strategy is tryi0ng to help
    Solution 3
Does not set a way in which the multi disciplinary team will engage those this strategy is focused on. Does set it to these people to utilize the resources they have but not on how they will do so.

    Font Size
The font size is appropriate for me to see as I sit in the back and can still read. Some presentations have the font and background very similar colors making it hard to read. This one however does not do this as in combination with its size it is easy to read.
    Use of Images
Use of graphics is very appealing to the individual listener. Future reference for the use of images based on the solutions that you are presenting would help to convey the message and the idea of the solutions you are speaking about. For example if talking about the use of basic income you would show a photo of a location of where they would collect their basic income.
    Presenters Tone/Voice
    Creativity
I enjoy the use of graphics to make it more engaging and easy to pay attention. This improves the appeal of the presentation.

The thoroughness of the environmental scan provided an exceptional understanding of the community resources that are available. The additional information based on the flaws of those provided community resources allows for improved education on how to properly navigate the resources and the shows how effective this will be.
Thoroughly provides feedback on the credibility and recency of the references used to support content.
References appear organized and is easy to follow. Easy to locate the reference page. I enjoy the great effort put in to finding a large number of resources to support your presentation information.

  4. Hello Ally, Antony, Carrie-Ann, Chelsea, & Erin,

Good work on the poster and presentation. I was thoroughly engaged. Throughout the presentation, I could hear everyone loudly and clearly. You all maintained professional body language throughout the presentation, displayed etiquette, and paid attention when your partners were speaking. The slides were visually appealing. The team utilized good coordination of colours and images, and the font size was easy for me to read. One thing that I would note would be that some slides had a lot of writing. Sometimes, I caught myself reading rather than listening and found that it could be distracting. I appreciated how your group spoke about the context and factors both inside and outside of a health care setting for homelessness, the management of diabetes and the implications on their health. Your team went into great depth when speaking about the issues. This gave a basis to why you chose your scenario specific to diabetes and which factors you could possibly target with solutions. The environmental scan performed was local to Kamloops. Doing it this way gives a good understanding of the strengths of the services provided to homeless people with diabetes and which dimensions of health are being targeted. It also shows which areas of health and well-being may be lacking and can build off of those weaknesses and even implement a new strategy. Your team presented three possible solutions, one of which was a priority solution. With all three of these solutions, you stated what they were, how they could target the health issue, the work required to implement them, and the pros and cons of each. This led you to choose the multidisciplinary approach to improve the coordination and continuation of care because it was the most feasible approach that would have the biggest results in the shortest span of time. Especially in a political climate where the federal and provincial governments face difficulty deciding who is paying for what, amongst many other reasons you stated. Your group gave a good basis for why you chose your priority approach, and I fully understood the reasoning. You utilized in-text citations, all your sources were within the 5-year range, and utilized a large array of scholarly journals. Good work!
